"gestation period of cabin fever"

Chris:

ADDENDUM: If it isn't obvious yet, then it probably should be. Mark and I enjoy taking turns at being the butt of the joke. It's just Australian to have a self-depricating sense of humour.

If there's anything I hate more it's being stuck with nothing to do. I'd rather bench press than do nothing. Now that I'm doing nothing but look for employment, it doesn't take long for the maddening nothingness to press your brain into a light and fluffy Poodle of a mind. I think I speak for all of us when I scream in anguish and breath into many a paper bag.

Oh, and the competition winner has been decided, and his rant will be in the place of mine come Monday.

"better than head cheese"

Mark:

The title, oh friends, is a reference to a certain Dork Tower comic which sums up my opinion of Star Wars: Episode II quite well.

For more Star Wars humour check out this comic, and the one that follows it, from Under Power.

Anime is great. Currently at certain weekly viewings at an undisclosed South Australian university, I am watching a most delightful Anime entitled "Rah Xephon". I like it. It may seem slow to start, but it gets better.

I admit that it has many (read "one hell of a lot of") plot similarities to Evangelion. However, I do not think this belittles it, as I find it one hell of a lot better than NGE. For one thing, we are watching it subtitled, and there is no annoying Spike Spencer. For another thing, the main character isn't a total moron, and doesn't whinge. Furthermore, I think the supporting cast is a lot more interesting. And this is not to mention that unlike Eva, I can forsee the plot making complete and utter sense without falling back on ridiculous applications of fundamentally flawed philosophy.

Thus, I have labelled it "better than Neon Genesis Evangelion". I fear it shall never have the approbation that NGE attracted, but I do not mind. So long as the creators know they have done a better job than them what made NGE, which I have come to view as an abomination on the face of the earth.

I want to see more of Rah Xephon now. Pity I have to wait until Tuesdays.... Actually, it is a good thing I have to wait for most of my anime fix. It spreads out the enjoyment, if that makes sense to you.

I also finally watched the last two episodes of Hellsing, and I conclude that they kick arse. They make watching the entire series worth it.

What else, what else.... I can't think of much else to write, peoples, so I will retreat back into my own mind in order to escape a certain foolish situation I have put myself in. Oh boy...
