"necronomicon
ex mortis"

ADDENDUM: All new, and as far as I'm concerned - improved. This is where stuff starts to happen. Eventually. I plan to be constantly adding to this rant, as I believe the small amount of time I have right now will not be enough to drivel all I will be needing to drivel. A good place to start is to say "hello" and "blancmange is back" and all of those corny lines that make you feel all fuzzy and warm inside. The hiatus was much needed, and quite beneficial for it gave me time to work on a new style that won't destroy my wrist each time I sit down to create it. I'm a faux artist, not a mascocist. Now we should be back to our regular schedule, with only minor deviations from the timeline. You can't force art, or anything that comes close to being called by that name. The style is basically me going, gee... I really don't like how the comic looks. Let's change almost everything. It shouldn't be the beginning of a trend, and the style will develop on its own volition - as it should. Characters will remain the same, and it should be pretty easy to identify who's who. I'll have to re-do the dossier page to showcase the evolution of each character just so that no one loses track. It's on my things to do list... really. Much discussion occured during the break, some even pertaining to the comic suprisingly enough. I had a nifty idea that Mark ate up about the direction of the plot, if we do intend to pursue a slightly regular progression. It caused a big rethink, and some of the time that can now be accounted for as absence. Application of less force seems to ease up continuity and evolution and I'm just using buzz words and leading you all on. I don't need to let you know all that's going on, but I owe you at least some dictation of the delay. Now I hope you all signed up for the Beta test of Neverwinter Nights. If you didn't then boo hoo for you. I know I would have, despite my old little K6 II 400, but the stupid form seemed to be coded incorrectly, and I got stuck in a stupid infinite loop. The story of my life. I still don't trust the Winter release date, but then again NWN has gained Tiberian Sun Syndrome. I really hope that I won't have to hulk my computer around to the weekly D&D games, considering train and bus drivers make me pay double fee. I also hope you all spoiled your respective mother/s/, cross dressing father, female guardian, gay mother father, or whatever form of being represents the Mother in your life this Mothers Day. My lack of work called for me to hand make the card, and cook her breakfast and dinner, and STILL she managed to make me feel 2 feet tall. Mothers can make you feel guilty even when you've done all you possibly could. It's fantastic when you get a first-hand glimpse at older inspirational films. Those gems that will live in history forever. Those which phrases, concepts and scenes will become static pop culture for generations. I saw one such cinematic delight... All three parts of Evil Dead. Never have I laughed as deep and hard before, except when inebriated as I did that night. The gallons of blood, the placid acting and Ash. It never clicked when I saw it last, considering I was but a lad, but it's a delight to see the inspiration behind the Duke's transition to 3D. I plead with thee... please see these films... It may stop future generations of webcomic creators from calling the Necronomicon Ex Mortis "The Necornomicon," and you'll have a wonderful laugh. Be warned that it is supposedly of a graphic nature, but I've got one of the weakest stomachs out there when it comes to horror and all I could do is laugh at the supposed graphicness of it all. g_SaberRealisticCombat 1. One of my favourite strings of characters to date. Jedi Knight 2 is beyond doubt my favourite FPS of all time. Perhaps it's because I'm so deeply emersed in Star Wars pop culture I feel like I'm emersed in Bacta, but I can't really say for sure. The combat is intuitive and it plays like a dream. Multiplayer, no matter how much you berate the concept of a Stormtrooper, or even Mon Mothma running around with a bloody Lightsaber, is entertaining and extremely addictive. I could go on forever, but instead I'd just suggest you run out and buy it, as well as an IV drip and a bedpan. It's been a very long time that I've been excited about any console being released. In fact, ever since I waited with bated breath for my copy of Columns to arrive through the mail for my Sega Mega Drive (Genesis). That which I refer to is the Australian release of the Nintendo GameCube. My mouth waters as I contemplate Sega and Nintendo games on the one console. As my gaming history is as old as I am - still enjoying today tottering around on a C64 or Atari 2600, this is a day I thought would never come. All I have to do now is go pawn the Nintendo 64, and go pre-order the gaming goodness. To hell with Microsoft and their lack of good games and Sony with their whole world conquest agenda. I want my ROGUE LEADER! I'll add more to the rant at the top of this whole spiel if anything pressing comes up. |

Mark: ADDENDUM:
I neglected to find all of this rant, and Mark was miffed. At this LAN, we mostly played Unreal Tournament. Lots of fun. I have been playing it at LANs and against bots for quite a while, on and off, and I have never been that good at it. But this time, it was different. I discovered the joys of sticking to relatively narrow corridors, with the impact hammer charged up. For several rounds, I came a consistant third, behind our friendly neighbourhood l33t g@m3r (James, damn his hide), and some other guy. The blood and gibs really flew that day... It took ages for anyone to even figure out what the hell I was doing and try to counter it. We also got in a bit of Counterstrike. Tis is a hell of a lot of fun, but only when everyone has a decently close skill level to each other. Fortunately, this was the case. This was the first time I really played this game properly, and I immediately fell in love with the auto-shotty. Shotguns have always been a favourite of mine, as they compensate nicely for my poor aim. |
